Personal information

A registered CFMTA, ORMTA and RCM piano instructor, Sophia began learning in her early childhood through rigorous practice and piano performances, which have built a solid foundation for fundamental and advanced piano skills. Sophia began learning to play piano when she was 5 years old. Sophia was first taught by Mrs. Xiuli Lue, who was famous for her strict teaching style at the Shenyang Conservatory. Mrs. Xiuli Lue now owns her own piano school in the United States. In 1994, Sophia passed the Chinese Musician Society Piano Level Examination Level 8. Sophia then went to Shenyang Normal University, where she was taught by Prof. Zhengang Lin for one year, who was the dean of the Piano Department at Shenyang Conservatory. While in University, Sophia was also taught by internationally renowned pianist, Professor Switlana, who was been a member of judge committee of International Piano Competition Children Group. She had taught Sophia personally between the years of 2001 to 2005.

Sophia has taught more than 100 students whose ages range from as young as preschool students, to as old as the working professional. Sophia looks at all of her students as friends, and treats all of them with patience and respect. Sophia’s pleasant personality and effective teaching capability has won wide recognition from students and their parents. With a strong sense of responsibility in education, Sophia is highly committed in her work. “I love music and I love children. The progress of my students is the utmost achievement of my work.”
