This summer will be a fantastic opportunity to see your ORMTA colleagues in the beautiful city of Ottawa! Join us for In Sync from July 16th - 18th for our AGM, OCTA and Keynote Presentations and our Provincial Competitions in the stunning setting of Tabaret Hall. The Keynote Presentation will be delivered by Tina Fedeski, Executive & Artistic Director and Co-Founder of OrKidstra

 

With a small change to the vocal adjudicator line-up, we are now happy to welcome Anja Burmeister along with Tracy Smith Bessette. Our instrumental adjudicators are Jarred Dunn and Sara Laimon. Zone Competition Convenors, the deadline to submit your application form is May 31st.

 

Technology can be incredible but can also run into issues here and there. We recognize that occasionally an important email from our system doesn't get through to everyone, so we've created a home for these updates on our website. Congratulations to all winners and their teachers in the 2024 ORMTA Music Writing Competition! The adjudicator was very impressed with the abundance of creativity shown! Details and winning scores can now be viewed on our website here. We would also like to wish all first place recipients, "Good Luck!" in the CFMTA Student Composer Competition. 

 

This July, there are a number of councillors completing their terms on Provincial Council, so we are looking for dedicated members to manage the positions that will be vacant: Competitions, OCTA, Pedagogy Award, Fundraising, and Young Artist Tour. Without the help of our members, we wouldn't be able to run these initiatives! Members are welcome to join as a Zone Rep or Member at Large.
