Pedagogy Award Criteria


This award is presented annually to a student studying pedagogy with an ORMTA member in good standing, who receives the highest mark in Ontario in the written portion of their Associate pedagogy examination by one of the following conservatories: Canadian National Conservatory of Music, Conservatory Canada or the Royal Conservatory of Music. Marks must be 80% or higher and the exam taken must be the highest level of pedagogy offered by any of the aforementioned conservatories. Only exam dates from January to December of the previous year will be considered. If successful, the student will receive a cash prize, a certificate, an invitation to ORMTA's Annual Awards Presentation and be featured in NOTES Magazine. The student will then be eligible to apply for the Memorial Pedagogy Award of CFMTA. The Recipients of this award are not eligible to reapply a second time.


ORMTA members are required to submit the information for eligible applicants through the form below by March 1st, 2025 in order for them to be considered for this award. You must be logged in to the website to access the form.
