Lannette Heikoop began formal piano lessons at the age of five which instilled a love for the instrument. She is forever grateful to her parents who made it a priority to keep their five children in music lessons throughout the years. Her teacher Donna Chapin made sure Lannette competed in the Kiwanis Music Festival every year to which she placed each time. She continued lessons under Andrew Ludziejewski of London who brought her through grade nine piano through to her Advanced Pedagogy certificate. He taught her an insurmountable amount of technique and ability! She was honoured to receive the Regional Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for the highest mark in her Intermediate Pedagogy certificate in Ontario. While in high school, Lannette began teaching piano lessons in her home. Subsequently, she built her own business successfully teaching piano lessons in the rural schools of Huron County for the past decade. Her husband Timothy has encouraged her in her studies, especially as she studied to complete her Advanced Pedagogy exams while expecting their first child. Lannette has also used her skill in multiple churches and ministries to the glory of God. She is passionate about music education as she realizes the impact it has on the musician and for the listening ear.
