Submissions are currently being accepted for the 2024 ORMTA Music Writing Competition. Students have until March 15th to send in their instrumental or vocal composition and receive helpful feedback from our adjudicator, Gloria Chu. Scholarships will be awarded in various classes and first place winners will have their work featured on our website and in an upcoming issue of Notes magazine. They will also represent Ontario in the CFMTA National Student Composer Competition.

The ORMTA Contribution to Teaching Award (OCTA) is a fantastic way to recognize a special teacher in your branch for their dedication to teaching, to the community and to ORMTA. Eligible members must have been an RMT of any Province or Territory, for at least 10 years (consecutively or intermittently). This year, our OCTA presentation will be held in Ottawa on July 17th during In Sync.

As we approach the end of the school year, there will be a number of Councillors completing their terms on Provincial Council. In July, there will be positions available for the following portfolios:

Members are welcome to join as a Zone Rep or just as a Member-at-Large, both of which manage a portfolio. Councillor terms are 2 years with the option to extend the term for another 2 years. We look to our members for guidance and support in keeping our initiatives and programs running. If you have some fresh new ideas to share and love volunteering, we would love to see you on Council!
